Gabrielle Dorr
Gabrielle Dorr is a PhD student in the Environmental Sustainability program in the Institute of the Environment at the University of Ottawa. Her academic background includes a BS in Biology and an MS in Oceanography. Gabrielle worked for the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration in Washington DC and California for 12 years as a Communications and Outreach Coordinator where she found her passion for the human dimension of conservation. While working on several behaviour change campaigns applying Community-Based Social Marketing methods, she became interested in applying these techniques to the issue of wildlife trafficking. In recent years, Gabrielle founded a marketing consulting firm, Supergirl Marketing, where she works with non-profits on strategic planning, building their brand, supporting fundraising efforts, and raising client visibility. She lives in Ottawa, Ontario with her family and enjoys going on long walks all year round with her dog Belle.
